The Ararat team has been the pleasant surprise of the tournament, managing to eliminate Universitatea Craiova to reach the group stage. In fact, Ararat has recorded two home victories in European competitions this year, defeating Celje in the Champions League qualifiers and, subsequently, Universitatea Craiova.
